Charlotte Niese wurde am 07.06.1854 in Burg auf Fehmarn geboren; sie starb am 08.12.1935 in Altona. Ihr Vater war Pastor in Burg auf Fehmarn. Charlotte bestand die Prüfung zur Lehrerin an Höheren Töchterschulen und unterrichtete als Hauslehrerin in Schleswig-Holstein, in der Rheinprovinz sowie als Internatserzieherin in Montreux. Danach zog sie zu ihrer inzwischen verwitweten Mutter nach Plön und begann mit der Veröffentlichung eigener Prosatexte, anfangs noch unter dem männlichen Pseudonym Lucian Bürger. 1884 ließ sie sich in Altona nieder, 1888 zog sie nach Ottensen. Germany Invades England...and wins!

The Coming Conquest of England is a classic alternative history and somewhat dystopian novel that displayed the German lust for world domination long before either of the two world wars. If you think that is a bit over board, there is the authors forward: `The story that I shall portray in the following pages is not a chapter of the world's past history; it is the picture as it clearly developed itself to my mind's eye, ...I am mindful of the duties and aims of our German nation. My dreams, the dreams of a German, show me the war that is to be, and the victory of the three great allied nations. Germany, France, and Russia and a new division of the possessions of the earth as the final aim and object of this gigantic universal war.'

A classic alternative history novel where Germany (who else?) invades England and wins!

A classic alternative history novel where Germany (who else?) invades England and wins! This war takes place around the time of the first world war, and even paints the political reasons why the war came about, and how it should happen, the really weird thing about this book, is that is a German book, (translated of course), and is all about how great such a war would be; it would be great to beat the English, we need to beat the English, and we DO beat the English!
This book scared many people in the UK, and I'm sure was read before BOTH World Wars by parties on both sides!

Before Hitler was `The Coming Conquest ..."!

Want to read an Alternative History war novel where Germany beats the UK in a war and takes over? Well, this is it. Before Hitler was `The Coming Conquest ...". This is not a `foot note' of history, it pre-dated both World Wars, and could explain how the Germans, civilized and advanced as they were, were quite willing to jump into two world wars, fun for Alternative History buffs, or war and history buffs, but a very good and frightening story too.
This is a book like no other, the Germans are the good guys, the English are the bad guys, and the `good guy Germans' win!
