Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2010 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Ältere Deutsche Literatur, Mediävistik, Note: 2,0, Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg (Germanistisches Seminar), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Im Mittelhochdeutschen ist es nicht immer leicht, die Struktur eines Werks herauszufiltern, da besonders hier eine starke Verbindung zwischen mündlicher und schriftlicher Überlieferung herrscht, sodass ein „roter Faden" meist nur sinngemäß aus dem Inhalt heraus gefunden werden kann. Doch zeigt sich bei einem Autor deutlich, dass die Struktur sehr wohl kompositorisch durchdacht und als Gestaltungsmerkmal mit dem Inhalt verarbeitet wurde; und zwar ist dies bei Hartmann von Aue vorzufinden, im Speziellen bei seinem Artusroman „Erec".
In der modernen mittelhochdeutschen Forschung zu den Strukturierungsmöglichkeiten gibt es zwei Termini, die für die Erklärung der Struktur des Erec verwendet werden und als Strukturierungsprinzipien in der Forschung legitimiert sind. Doch fällt immer wieder auf, dass die beiden Termini „Doppelweg" und „Doppelter Kursus" beinahe überall gleichwertig und synonym verwendet und auch als solches verstanden werden. Doch sind dies keineswegs Synonyme und sie dürfen als solche auch nicht verstanden werden, denn sie bezeichnen jeweils grundsätzlich Verschiedenes.
Folglich taucht die Frage auf, was nun der genaue Unterschied dieser beiden Termini ist und ob diese für die aktuelle Forschung überhaupt noch interessant sind. Diesen Unklarheiten möchte ich im Folgenden nachgehen und anhand zwei ausgewählter aktueller Aufsätze erläutern und damit, wenn möglich, beiseiteschaffen.
Meine Fragestellung lautet: Wie sind die beiden Termini „Doppelweg" und „doppelter Kursus" zu unterscheiden und vor allem sind diese in der modernen mittelhochdeutschen Strukturierungsforschung noch angemessen und sinnvoll oder werden neue Ansätze dafür bereits sichtbar und notwendig?
